Farmington Junior Women's Club
Junior Women is designed to encompass as many interests as
possible, from art auctions to delivering meals on wheels.
Our committee's consist of:
Art:
Activities include making and donating a holiday tree to the Wadsworth Atheneum.
Conservation:
Activities include information on recycling; beautification project include participating
in the town-wide clean up and maintaining a one-mile stretch of the rails to trails.
Education:
Juniors provides an annual scholarship to Farmington High School - we celebrate
teacher recognition week; sponsor the annual 5th and 6th grade spelling bee; adopt a
school to help with supplies and a read along program
Health:
Provides information to members on health topics; assist with project graduation and
help various programs to reduce drug and alcohol abuse.
Home Life:
Juniors participate in meals on wheels; adopt a family in need; sponsor a yearly
Senior's bingo night.
Current Affairs:
Past projects have included sponsoring a car seat safety program; a bicycle safety
program and John Rosemond parenting lecture.
Membership:
Works to continue the excellence of the club by soliciting and retaining members.  We
strive to make every member feel valuable and welcome.
Ways & Means:
Organizes fund raising activities for the club; including the Candy Cane Boutique arts
& craft show and the annual wine tasting and silent auction event.  Funds raised are
donated to local charities.
